I became a devoted family photographer the day my own daughter, a fabulous photographer in her own right, made me feel special behind her lens as my hair was growing back from chemo treatments in my battle with breast cancer. I was fighting depression during the healing of a scarring double mastectomy. I did not want photos but she did. Why? Because life is precious and our kiddos love us and love the stories our photos tell. 

So, my daughter put on my favorite classic rock and poured my favorite wine. We sang, we laughed and we danced a little and then she pulled out her camera. The photo of me on this page is from that day. When she showed me all the photos I cried. She had captured the real me - the mom that can't sing, snorts when she laughs and loves so hard. I knew in that moment I had to take my love of photography and build my own career around giving families real moments that capture loving glances, bear hugs and all of the unique personalities that make a family come to life each time the photos are seen.
